Till death do us part....

Last Monday, June 1st is really a memorable cum sentimental day for me. I attended a wedding vow renewal mass of my biras(my bro-in-law wife) Lianah's parents at Holy Rosary Church, Limbahau, Papar. It's my first time attending such celebration and the great thing about it was, it's their 60th anniversary. Amazing! To make a marriage work for 60 years is not easy...it's a roller coaster ride hahaha. I'm deeply amazed...astound and proud to be a witness to such a beautiful and holy occassion of this couple who look beautiful and dashing in their traditional outfit :)

From what I gathered from the 'bride' *wink*, it was an arrange marriage(well...what is not on those days but still their marriage last) and she still remembered the time she was brought to her 'groom' house which was at 11am on Thursday. Can you imagine that? And it happened 60 years ago! I bet we can't even remember what the day or date or time the first time we have a date with our spouses or fell in love for the matter and we claim ourselves to know more about 'falling in love' or 'love' than our dear old parents LOL.

After the mass the celebration continues for their children(9 of them) gave their parents a blasting anniversary party...how sweet! It was so well organized and the enthusiasm and excitement were all over their faces...the children..grandchildren and great grandchildren...who wouldn't, right? Being able to give such to your parents is a blessing for compared to what they have done for us what we give them can't measure their sacrifices and love.

Grandchild No. 26

Time sure do pass very fast. It feels like it was only few days ago baby Luke birth brings excitement to everyone in the family(a good sign what! the 'Solungkod clan' is multiplying *wink*) and it has not wane out, YET we were celebrating his 'full moon' last Saturday...Ouinah! so fast ohhh...Foolish it may sound but I don't want him to grow up yet....wahhhhh...

It's a tradition in the family...guess in every family especially Kadazan-Dusun and Chinese as well(I think so hehe) that when a baby is a month old it will be celebrated and sort of introducing him/her to the rest of the families. So it's party time for the 'Solungkod clan' again hahaha and we sure do love it for this is the time where normally everyone make an extra effort to be presence and get together and since our mum birthday falls on June 1st we decided celebrate it at the same day.
